Global food and beverage giants join forces on regenerative agriculture

LONDON, May 19 (Reuters) - Forty major food and agriculture groups, including Carlsberg CARLb.CO, Diageo DGE.L, Nestle NESN.S and Mondelez MDLZ.O, have signed a joint declaration to advance and scale regenerative agriculture, a non-profit network said on Tuesday.

SAI Platform's regenerative agriculture programme aims to address climate change, biodiversity loss and soil degradation while securing agricultural supply chains.

Signatories, which include ADM, McCormick MKC.N and Unilever ULVR.L, said no single organisation or solution can drive the systemic change required.

SAI Platform's programme incorporates input from farmers, NGOs and academics to align efforts across the supply chain.

"We need alignment and collaboration - not isolated efforts," said Simon Boas Hoffmeyer, VP, Global Head of Sustainability & ESG, Carlsberg Group.
